Food Review: Wine Bonanza (At Albert Court)

Hi lovelies,

I visited Wine Bonanza with my sister and Agnes lately and we really want to share about this place!

Wine Bonanza is a wine and gourmet haven located in the nostalgic, pre-war colonial heritage building at Albert Court. The restaurant has been restored and refurnished into a modern European yet rustic style. This restaurant is a really good spot for after-work/off-days drinks and dining with just the right vibe.

The restaurant has a VIP private room for customers to host private gatherings.
This room links directly to the carpark!

The place is really beautiful and welcoming!

At Wine Bonanza, they offer dishes made with fresh and quality ingredients, and they are also particular about food and wine pairing. Their staff are able to recommend you wines to go with your dishes.

For a start, we had Irish Gallagher Premium Oysters with Hendricks Gin Cucumber Relish $21 (half a dozen).

Their oysters were genuinely fresh, big, juicy and delicious, a pure pleasure as it went down our throats.

We were recommended to have Christian Moreau Chablis to pair with the oysters.
This wine has a fresh, citrus, smooth, sweet spicy taste. It went very well with the fresh oysters.

Next, we had their Lobster Bisque $18.

The Chef had kindly separated the Lobster Bisque into 3 bowls for us.

This rich, creamy, flavourful soup based on a strained broth of crustaceans tasted like an ocean in the mouth. Braised with vegetables like carrots, celery, onions, angelica root and fresh lobster, the richness of the broth opened our appetites for more.

The next appetizer we had was Aged Italian Bean Puree Beignet with Truffle Mayo $15.
We had it together with their specially made ice-cream cocktail, Pina Colada.
You can order this cocktail at special request. It is a sweet, creamy, dessert-like cocktail.
Super delicious!

The bean puree beignets covered with bread crumbs made it crispy on the exterior, yet soft on the inside. Topped with their specially made truffle mayo, this dish definitely stimulate our appetites further. This is a dish great for vegetarian too!

For mains, we started with Grilled Halibut $26.
We love grilled fish, so this dish is a must!

We were introduced to have Casa Silva Sauvignon Blanc to go with our fish!
This wine is light bodied, fruity and has a slight acidic aftertaste. This wine elevated the taste of the Grilled Halibut.

The Grilled Halibut was fresh, tender and succulent. It was served with roasted baby potatoes and sautéed asparagus which was appropriately seasoned. At the side was their Arrabiata sauce, a mildly spicy tomato concasse that amazed our taste buds.

The next main dish we had was Beef Stew $26.

Tasty brisket that we had! We were told that they braised it for 8 hours with carrots, mushroom, bacon in red wine sauce. This beef stew tasted heavenly with the strong flavors but not too overpowering. This dish is also a healthy option with the lean cut of beef stewed with vegetables. The baby carrots were sweet, fried lotus crispy and buttered bread tasty. A great dish worth returning for!

We had this dish paired with Saint Clair Pinot Noir.
A medium bodied red wine, fruity, smooth and aromatic with a good complement of spiciness.

Look at the beautiful colours of the wines!

Next, we had Truffle Mushroom Cream Pasta $24
We had it paired with the same wine we had earlier, Christian Moreau Chablis.

This is a vegetarian pasta. The truffle smell was strong and heavenly! This was a simple yet satisfying Linguine pasta cooked in creamy truffle sauce and topped with a medley of mushrooms like Buttons and Shiitake. Delicious!

We had another scrumptious pasta, the Lobster Aglio Olio with Caviar $39.
We had this dish paired with Casa Silva Sauvignon Blanc.

The lobster was fresh and perfectly grilled to retain its juiciness and the pasta topped with black caviar. This lightly tasted quality pasta dish was full of freshness!

Moving on to dessert, we had Bread and Butter Pudding $11.

Everyone should try this unbelievable combination of bread and butter pudding with ice cream. This dessert is completely different from other bread puddings I had before. The cinnamon flavored pudding was mixed with brioche bread and the vanilla ice-cream brought a touch of gourmet to this dessert. An uplifting dessert that made us really happy after having it but got to finish the ice-cream quick before it melts!
This hot and cold dessert is definitely worth returning for too!

Together with the dessert, we had some sweet tasting cocktails, Lychee Martini and
Sparkling Wine - Bellini

This Bellini sparkling wine was such a beautiful bubbling drink with a romantic sweet taste.

Ending off with more photos!
