Food review: Blend It Up! Authentic Italian Flavours With a Local Twist

Hi lovelies,

I had a meal with my sister at Blend lt Up, an Italian Fusion Casual Dining restaurant helmed by popular Celebrity Chef Peter Neo. 

With a local spin on classic Italian dishes, you can find food combined with delights such as salted egg and tom yum to cater to the Singaporean taste bud at this restaurant.


The place was comfortable, there was with no overcrowding or loud noise at the restaurant which makes my meal there peaceful and enjoyable. I just love the ambience and the food here.


If you are there during weekdays lunch period, you can also enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion!



The first dish that we had was their Seafood soup
The soup had a tomato base with a bit of spiciness and white wine in it and there was a generous portion of fresh seafood which combined well with the soup, making this dish refreshing yet not overpowering in taste.


We had their Mushroom soup as well.
Every mouthful of the soup was full of the flavor of wild mushrooms and there were also mushroom bits in the soup. This dish was definitely unforgettable and I highly recommend everyone to order this if you dine there.


Next we had their Whole Grilled Squid.
Chef Peter handmade the salsa sauce which was full of freshness and well mixed with appropriate portion of olive oil. The presentation was beautiful and the grilled squid was fresh and delicious too!


Another dish which I highly recommend is their Roasted Pork Belly with Porcini sauce.
The pork belly was a healthier version as there was more lean meat with minimal fats visible and yet the meat was so soft and tender that it melts in the mouth. The pineapple sauce at the side was also a good catalyst as it was very refreshing and it made the meat more flavorful.


One of their popular pizzas is the Blend It Up Pizza.
This was a delectable pizza with Peta and Mozzarella cheese, honey baked ham, mushroom and sunny side up on a thin crust. A very tasty blend it up pizza here, especially the cheese!!!

 We also tried something special, their Salted Egg Pasta.
The pasta had been prepared al dente with a generous portion of salted eggs.


For dessert, we had their Black Sesame Lava Cake and Pistachios Lava Cake.
Both desserts are really popular at this restaurant and after trying them, I can totally agree that these desserts are scrumptious!
From the presentation, to watching the generous portion of the lava flowing non-stop, to tasting the incredible flavors of these fusion desserts, I highly recommend everyone to try them!
The vanilla ice-cream was an excellent complement to this dessert with its milky vanilla taste.



About Chef Peter Neo

Celebrity Chef Peter Neo is no stranger in the culinary and media industry. He has 35 years of culinary experience and was the former Chef di Partie at Raffles Hotel. Following his passion, he spent time in Italy learning to cook authentic Italian cuisine from some of the best Italian chefs. Upon his return to Singapore, he joined an established local Italian restaurant chain.

He also began experimenting with fusion Italian food, creating witty and innovative dishes to appeal to local tastes.

He is the man behind local Italian restaurant Pietro Ristorante Italiano, formerly from Raffles Hotel and Bruno, and his latest venture into Italian fusion food is represented through his quaint and cosy restaurant, Blend It Up.

Chef Peter Neo is well-known for his exceptional culinary skills with numerous awards and accolades, widely sought after for food demonstrations and has previously contributed his own recipes to local magazines. He has appeared on various TV programmes, radio shows and events showcasing his culinary skills.
