Neal's Yard Remedies Create Workshop

It was my honor to be invited to a hands-on workshop session at the Neal's Yard Remedies store.

This workshop was specially created for us to learn more about organic natural ingredients and together with Neal's Yard Remedies Trainer from the UK, I got to create my own masterpiece blend!

The workshop started with the Trainer teaching us how to create the Superfood Smoothie. This drink is packed full of nutritional green super foods, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory herbs for clear skin and energy-boosting ingredients.

One of the ingredients is Spinach. We were taught to choose spinach with red leaves as that would mean that the spinach is full of anti-oxidant.
1/2 lemon was added to prevent the avocado from oxidizing. Lemon is also good for internal cleansing.
Blueberries - the seeds are full of saturated fatty acid.
Parsley - full of minerals like calcium, iron etc. which are good for our body.
Cucumber - for hydration purpose, to replenish water back to our skin.
Avocado - full of anti-oxidant and saturated fatty acid.
Turmeric - helps to protect the liver.
4 teaspoons of Beauty Oil, mainly omega oil - for healthy brain, nervous system and skin.
Raw cold pressed coconut oil (can be purchased from Neal's Yard Remedies) - worked as a synergy with the Beauty Oil to enhance the benefits of the Beauty Oil.
Coconut water or apple juice can be added too for a sweeter taste and additional flavor.

One of the main ingredients is also the Neal's Yard Remedies Organic Greens Complex

The final result of our Glowing Green Goddess Smoothie! One can opt to blend the ingredients into fine texture or into small bits based on personal preference.

It was over 30 years ago that Neal’sYard Remedies opened the doors of their first shop in Neal’s Yard, a once forgotten corner of Covent Garden, London. From the beginning they have been driven by a passion for transforming people’s lives, by empowering them to live more healthily through the power of nature, and this passion is still at the heart of the company today.

Since the beginning, the herbal scientists at the heart of the business have been unlocking the healing and rejuvenating properties of nature’s plants, to create the award-winning products, with cutting-edge technology that goes into the much-loved products. Nearly every one of the award-winning, certified organic products – the largest range in the UK – is handmade at the eco-factory in Dorset, using home-grown and sustainably sourced, certified organic ingredients.

Moving on next, we got to smell the scent of different essential oils produced by Neal's Yard Remedies without knowing the ingredients, and we got to note down which are the essential oils that appealed most to us. Neal's Yard Remedies used the Absolute method to produce their essential oils to maximize quantity yet not reducing on quality.

We were then given a bottle of scentless cream and I have also selected my preferred essential oils - Lemon, Bergamot, Rose, Neroli and Frankincense.
The scent of Lemon has refreshing, tonifying and anti-bacterial properties, and it helps with focusing and concentration.
Bergamot helps with cooling and eases anxiety.
Rose has cooling, relaxing, aphrodisiac properties and it helps to balance hormones and mood.
Neroli has de-stressing,anti-anxiety properties and helps with calming after shock, sleeping and balancing of skin.
Frankincense treats anxiety, invokes mediation and spiritual connection. It has tonifying, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to calm people down and deepens their breathing.

Time to do the mixing and blending to find the best mixture I like most! =)

I finally created my favorite combination with 4 drops of Lemon, 3 drops of Bergamot, 4 drops of Rose, 3 drops of Neroli and 2 drops of Frankincense. Perfect and I'm happy with it! It takes time and patience to do this.

And since it's nearing the season of Christmas, I managed to check out their Christmas gift sets.

Neal's Yard Remedies is located at Millenia Walk, #01-75.
