Chinese New Year Shopping at ZALORA

Arguably the most important Chinese festival in the year, Chinese New Year is also known as the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival, as it ushers in the new season.

From lion dances to firecrackers, sweet and savoury snacks to cultural performances at the Esplanade Waterfront Promenade, the festivities take place with much pomp and pageantry.

Celebrations last for fifteen days, starting from the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar.

Prior to that is Chinese New Year’s Eve, where families gather together for reunion dinner, and families generally visit their relatives and friends throughout the fifteen days.

According to tradition, families clean their homes in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and present a clean slate for the new year.

In that similar vein, new clothes are worn too. Good fortune and shopping, what’s not to love about Chinese New Year?

And if you need some fashion inspiration, check out ZALORA's fresh pickings for the Spring Festival. Wish you many blessings your way!

Hop on to ZALORA for some fashionable, classic pieces for this coming lunar festive season.
