CP Food Bloggers' Party - A Day of Fun, Cooking and Laughter!

A few bloggers gathered at National Service Resort Country Club (NSRCC Changi) for CP Food Bloggers' Party. Everyone there was relax and carefree and we had lots of joy and laughter throughout the session.

I guess most people would have heard about the brand CP Food as they are infamous for their fresh shrimp wantons. But....have you ever wondered or do you know what CP stands for?

It's actually Charoen Pokphand! It means "Abundance and Prosperity in Food" and this brand originated from Bangkok, Thailand! Cool! I didn't know that beforehand.

When we were there, we had bowling before proceeding to our next programme. I am seriously NOT a great bowler but I enjoyed the experience.

After bowling, I was already feeling a little hungry and thought that I could finally sink my teeth into those delicious CP Food! Haha! Nope, we had to prepare and cook the foods ourselves! But I wasn't worried as CP foods are mostly pre-cooked so their foods are easy and convenient to prepare.


CP has an extensive range of food to cater to different likes - mussels, fillets, chicken, eggs, wantons, dumplings etc, etc. 

However, on a day which you don't feel like cooking or you want your food fast, CP actually has two finger food stores! It's called Snax! by CP and they are curently located at the basements of Takashimaya (Ngee Ann City) and Jem! The foods selling at Snax can be ready within minutes.

At the party, we tried the CP Korean Chicken which is also selling at Snax!


There are 3 flavours in total - Spicy, Soy Garlic and Honey Lemon. It cost S$5 per cup and S$7.50 with additional fries and drink. I think Honey Lemon was the favourite among us girls that day. Their chicken meat was juicy and tender and we could really taste the sweetness of the Honey. It goes very well with the chicken. You should try it too!!!

Now, before we get our hands on preparing our dinner, we need the ingredients first. And of course, not forgetting our CP Foods!!! *stomach growling already* LOL.







And soon enough, everyone broke up into groups and went ahead with the food preparations.

Here are the dishes we have prepared together. I will be sharing the recipes so that you can also get these sumptuous food prepared easily.


Chicken Caesar Salad with CP Chicken Pop (Serves 3-4)

Ingredients 
1 packet CP Chicken Pop 400g 
1 large Romaine Lettuce (leaves separated and chopped) 
2 pieces CP Chilled Fresh Eggs (Hard Boiled, sliced) 
10 pieces of Cherry Tomatoes 

DRESSING 
Parmesan Cheese (grated) 60g 
5 tablespoon mayonnaise 
3 tablespoon Olive Oil 

Method 
1. Bake CP Chicken Pop for about 7 minutes or golden brown. 
2. In the medium bowl, toss the lettuce and tomatoes with dressing. 
3. Add in the Chicken Pop and eggs. 
4. Sprinkle some cheese before serving.

CP Chilled Fresh Eggs : S$2.50/6 pieces


Chicken Kebab with CP Glazed Teriyaki
Ingredients 

MARINATE 
1½ tablespoons oil 
1½ tablespoons lime juice 
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 
½ teaspoon Chili Powder 
A pinch of salt 
1 packet CP Glazed Teriyaki 
250g ½ small red bell pepper, cut into cubes 
2 tablespoons oil 
6 Bamboo skewers 

Method 
1. Thread, alternately, three pieces of the chicken meat with three pieces of red pepper on a metal skewer. 
2. Grill the chicken kebab for about 7 minutes. 
3. BBQ the kebab slightly on both sides for a slightly charred look.

CP Glazed Teriyaki : S$4.20/packet


CP Honey Wings in Pandan Leaves (Serves 5-6)

Ingredients
1 packet CP Honey Wings 350g (piece count: 11)
1 packet Pandan leaves (about 10 strips)

Method
1. Wrap each meat using a strip of pandan leaf & fasten using toothpicks.
2. Wrap them using aluminum foil & BBQ on rack until meat is cooked.
3. Serve immediately.

CP Honey Wings : S$5.60/350g packet or S$3.80/230g packet


Cheese-mayo baked mussels (Serves 4-5)

Ingredients
12-15 piece CP green cooked mussels
6 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
1 teaspoon chili sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon finely chopped parsley
Some shredded cheese

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2. Clean and rinse the mussels. Remove the empty halves of the shells, pat dry the halves containing the mussels and set aside.
3. In a small bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients and blend well.
4. Lay the mussels on a tray lined with baking sheet or aluminium foil, top each mussel with about ½ tablespoon of the mayonnaise mixture.
5. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top of the mussels.
6. Bake the mussels for 10 minutes or until the surface become golden brown.
7. Remove from the oven and serve warm.

This tray consists of CP Korean Vegetable Mandoo (the long dumplings) and CP Chicken Gyoza (the shorter dumplings).

CP Korean Vegetable Mandoo with Red Hot Pepper Sauce (Serves 3-4)

Ingredients

1 packet CP Vegetable Mandoo
3 tablespoon Corn starch

STOCK MIXTURE
1 tablespoon Gochujang sauce (Korean red chili paste)
1-1/2 cup Water
1 cube Vegetable granule
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Oyster sauce

Method
1. Preheat non-stick frying pan with some cooking oil, cook mandoo over medium heat till bottom turned brown. Remove the mandoo from the pan.
2. Add in stock mixture and let it cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Bring to boil before adding in the cornstarch. Stir till the gravy became thicken.
3. Finally, pour the sauce out onto a saucer and served separately with the mandoo.

CP Chicken Gyoza with Gyoza Sauce (makes about 350ml)

Ingredients
1 packet CP Chicken Gyoza
1 large garlic clove, peeled and chopped finely
2 large red chilli
Salt
25g sugar
80ml balsamic vinegar
250ml light soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil

Method
1. Preheat non-stick frying pan with some cooking oil, cook gyoza over medium heat till bottom turned brown. Remove the gyoza from the pan.
2. Crush the garlic and chilli together with the flat of a knife, to form a paste.
3. Heat up the vinegar and dissolve the sugar within over a low heat. Put in the paste and rest of the ingredient and bring to boil.
4. Pour the sauce into the saucer and served separately with the gyoza.

Grilled Fish with Chilli & Tumeric (Serves 2-4)
Ingredients

CHILLI PASTE
1 clove garlic
3 shallots
6 dried chillies
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon or to taste, sugar
To taste, salt

2 slices of Lemon
2 tablespoons oil
4 piece CP Raw Frozen Pangasius Skin-On Fillet

Method
1. Chop finely all the ingredients for chilli paste.
2. Pan fry the ingredients for the chilli paste until aromatic. Remove from pan and set aside.
3. Wash and pat dry the fish, then place it on a sheet of aluminium foil.
4. Cover the fish with the chilli paste on both sides then squeeze the lemon slices.
5. Wrap the aluminium & grill for about 10 mins.

Grilled Tilapia with Pineapple Salsa (Serves 2-4)

Ingredients
2 cups cubed fresh pineapple
2 green onions, chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
¼ cup finely chopped red pepper
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
4 teaspoons plus 2 tablespoons lime juice, divided
1/8 teaspoon plus 1/4 teaspoon salt, divided
4 teaspoon sugar
Dash cayenne pepper
Dash herbs
1 tablespoon canola oil
4 CP fish fillets (4 ounces each)
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Method
1. Wash and pat dry the fish.
2. In a small bowl, combine the pineapple, onions, green pepper, cilantro, 4 teaspoons lime juice, 4 teaspoon sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt and cayenne. Chill until serving.
3. Combine oil and remaining lime juice; drizzle over fillets. Sprinkle with pepper, herbs, cayenne pepper and remaining salt.
4. Lightly coat the grill rack with butter. Grill fish, covered, over medium heat for 12 – 15 minutes until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with salsa.

  1. Hi, No wonder I like the CP fried Chicken. I have not much idea about your place but in my place people love eating CP Food BD. As it comes with cheap prize, nice taste and quality food.
