Review: AFC Japan Chef's Diet Risotto

Have you ever thought of managing your weight or even lose weight through eating low calories nutritious diet?

Now you can!

Because we have AFC Chef's Diet Risotto! AFC Chef's Diet Risotto is an authentic Italian-style Japanese meal replacement, prepared by renowned Chef Nishiwaki Ichiro in Japan. Together with AFC Japan’s Nutrition and Dietetics Department, only the finest ingredients are used in the production of Chef’s Diet Risotto.
There are a total of 5 different flavours in each box and the calories for each meal is much much much lower than any meal we can have unless we go vegetarian but I'm a person who can't survive with just vegetables for every meal, so I'm very happy to know that low calories tasty meals do exist!

Let us check out AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto!

My favourite dishes are the Tomato with Basil, Cream of Mushroom and Assorted cheese. Allow me to go through how each dish tasted.

First, Tomato with Basil.
This dish tasted very much like the tomato sauce used in Spaghetti but in this dish, it is not with Spaghetti but with rice. This is a really special dish and you also get to eat real tomatoes and carrots in it. It is really delicious! Yummy yummy! :p

This seafood dish has a strong clam taste and a little on the salty note. Not really the type I would go for but I think for people who love clams and sea saltiness, you might love this! :)

This curry dish tasted very similar to those Japanese curry we eat at Japanese Restaurants! Yummy yummy yet not spicy at all. I like it! You get chucks of potatoes inside too! Nice!

This is one of the best! There are real mushrooms inside. This tasted quite similar to Campbell Mushroom Soup but more flavourful and tastier. I let my sisters tried this and they gave me thumbs up! We love this dish very much!

Assorted cheese is super awesomely delicious! Tasted almost like cheese baked rice! The cheese just taste so good here! For people who doesn't like cheese, I think you will change your opinion of cheese after eating this. Really! This is a must try! Oh, there is button mushrooms too!

After reading about all the dishes, are you curious why Chef’s Diet Risotto could provide delicious dishes with low calories, yet it is able to make a person feel full after eating it?

AFC Chef’s Diet Risotto is a mix of full grain white rice and low-calorie Konjac. Konjac is made from Japanese Konnyaku potato, which has a similar texture to rice.

Characteristics of Konjac
  • Astonishingly low-calorie base
  • Excellent soluble fiber content for sustained fullness and promotes bowel movement.
  • Prolong gastric emptying time
    • increases satiety
    • reduces body weight
    • decreases ingestion of foods that increase cholesterol and glucose concentrations
    • reduces the postprandial rise in plasma glucose
More goodness!

  • 1,000mg micro-peptide collagen. Collagen restores skin firmness, and reduces wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Fortified with iron, for essential body functions and performance. Encourages stronger nails and healthy hair growth.
  • High in Fibre to increase satiety and promotes bowel movement.
A meal with low calories yet flavorful with so much goodness is easy to prepare too!
You can either use boiling water or microwave. If you are using boiling water, you just have to soak the sealed retort pouch of AFC Chef's Diet Risotto in boiling water for 5 minutes and you are ready to eat it! Or, if you use microwave, you can cut open the sealed retort pouch of AFC Chef's Diet Risotto, transfer the contents into a deep container, cover up the container and heat it. The approximate reheat time is about 2 minutes.

My rating: 4/5
